Here we go again :)

It's hard to believe that I'm already getting set to study abroad again when last year at this time I wasn't even sure I would be going to Spain! I created this blog so that you can keep up with my travels and learn more about the program that I am studying with.

So for starters-
I am studying abroad with a program called Semester at Sea. (Hence the SASsummer2011 title in my blog:] ) I will be taking classes on a ship (called the MV Explorer) while sailing to nine different countries. I get to spend 3 nights and 4 days in each port without having classes. There are about 700 students who will be sailing with me along with 300 faculty members. You can see my itinerary collage on the right side of the screen... it makes me smile every time I look at it!

I have been working and working and working in order to save my money for this program. I worked 31 hours this week alone while also going to school full-time. However, I have never wanted something as much as I want to sail with this program, so all of my hard work will be worth it in about 4 months!

My promise to you (Including YOU mom...) is that I will update my blog as often as possible once I begin to sail. The first 15 days of the program I will be crossing the Atlantic Ocean on my way to Spain so there are no promises that I will have internet concurrently while socializing with the whales and waves. And for any of you who might be curious...YES. I get EXTREMELY seasick. Hopefully it's not too, too bad.

I am so happy that you will be sharing this journey with me and it is so nice knowing that I have the thoughts, prayers and support of so many people.

Please email me or leave me a comment on here whenever you feel like it. I won't be using facebook for the whole summer, so don't put anything on there if you're trying to reach me!

Love Always,
Lindsay
